Nothing sprayed. Nothing burned. Nothing inhaled.

A sensor finds the mosquito. A laser stops it. Every other method in your house works by putting something into the air that you then breathe for eight hours. This one doesn't put anything into the air at all.

The honest comparison

Against what you use now.

A coil costs a few rupees and a net costs almost nothing. This is a different kind of purchase, so here is exactly what you get for the difference.

A net is still the cheapest thing that works, and we would not tell you otherwise. Ray is for the rooms where a net is not practical and you would rather not burn something all night.

Safety

Most of the design is about not firing.

A device like this is only worth having in a bedroom if it refuses to act far more often than it acts. Four conditions must all hold. If any one fails, the emitter is disabled and stays disabled.

  • There must be a solid surface behind the target A wall or floor at a known distance absorbs the pulse. Open sky, a window or a gap and the emitter shuts off.
  • The background must be inside the working range If the measured distance is further than the device is rated for, it will not fire at all.
  • The target must match a mosquito Size and flight signature are both checked. Anything larger — a moth, a hand, a pet, a child — fails the test.
  • The device must be level and seated Lift it, tilt it or knock it off the base and it stops until it is put back.

What Kavach Ray will not do.

This one matters more than usual, because the device contains an emitter and you are going to put it in a room with your family in it.

  • Never look into the aperture, and never point it at anyone. The safety conditions are designed so it will not fire at a person. That is not a reason to test it. Treat the front of the device the way you would treat any optical instrument: don't stare into it, and don't let a child handle it.
  • It will not work pointed at open space. Without a solid background at a known distance it disables itself by design. Facing a balcony railing with sky behind it, it simply will not operate.
  • It will not clear a room that is already full. It handles what crosses its plane, one at a time. Walking into an infested room and switching it on is not what it is for. Run it before the room fills.
  • It does not cover a whole house. One unit covers one room. Walls stop it completely.
  • It will not help with anything other than mosquitoes. The size and movement test that keeps it safe also means flies, cockroaches and everything else are ignored.
  • It is not a malaria or dengue prevention claim. Reducing mosquitoes in a room is not the same as preventing disease, and we will not tell you it is. Keep using whatever your doctor advises.

Around infants, use a net as well. A net is cheap, passive and cannot fail. Ray is worth having alongside one, not instead of one.

How it works

Find it. Confirm it. Only then act.

Three stages, and the second one is the one that matters. Most of what crosses the sensor is not a mosquito, and the device does nothing about any of it.

1

Scan

A sensing plane sweeps the room and measures the distance to every surface in front of it, continuously. It knows the shape of the room it is sitting in.

2

Confirm

Something crossing the plane changes those readings. The system checks its size and how it moves against what a mosquito looks like. If it doesn't match, nothing happens.

3

Respond

A steering mirror sends a brief pulse back down the exact line the sensor measured. Detection and response travel the same path, which is what makes it accurate.

Try it yourself

Play the KAVACH RAY game.

A family is asleep behind KAVACH RAY, and the mosquitoes and flies are heading for them. Tap each bug before it bites. The Ray swings round on its stand, locks on and zaps.

Zapped 0
Bites 0/5

30 seconds. Zap as many bugs as you can.

Just for fun. In real life, KAVACH RAY only fires when all four safety checks pass.

Two versions

Same performance. Different light.

Detection, range and response are identical. The only real difference is whether you can see it working, which decides where each one belongs.

Indoor

Invisible

Emission
Invisible, outside the visible range
When it acts
No visible flash
Locating beam
One visible marker, switchable off
Best for
Bedrooms, nurseries, hotel rooms

Nothing lights up while you sleep. The marker beam exists only so you can confirm where it is aimed during setup, then be turned off.

Outdoor

Visible

Emission
Visible
When it acts
A brief visible flash
Locating beam
Not needed — the response is the feedback
Best for
Terraces, lawns, farmhouses, campsites

Outdoors, seeing it work is the point. You know it is running, and you can see the boundary of what it is covering.

Where it goes

Rooms where a coil is not the answer.

The nursery

Where the whole argument against burning something overnight is at its strongest.

Bedrooms

On the base it covers the room rather than the corner it is standing in.

The terrace

Evenings outdoors, where coils blow away and sprays last minutes.

Farmhouse and weekend homes

Opened a few times a month, with no interest in restocking repellent each visit.

Hotels and homestays

Guest rooms where a plug-in vaporiser is not the impression you want to leave.

Clinics and waiting rooms

Spaces where airborne repellent is not appropriate but mosquitoes still get in.

In the case

It packs up and comes along.

Mosquitoes are worse away from the city, which is exactly where families spend the evenings they remember. Everything travels in one case.

Questions

Before you ask us.

Is it safe to run in a room with children?
Four conditions must all hold before it will fire, and a child fails the size test immediately. That said: don't point it at people, don't look into the aperture, and around an infant use a net as well. The safety section above explains each condition.
Will it hurt my pets?
A cat, dog or bird is far too large to pass the size and movement test. Mount it above pet height anyway, as you would any electrical device.
How many do I need for my house?
One per room. Walls stop it entirely, so a unit in the bedroom does nothing for the living room. Most households start with one for the room they sleep in.
Does it make a noise?
The device itself is silent. On the rotating base there is a faint motor sound, which most people stop noticing within a night.
What does it cost to run?
Electricity, and nothing else. No refills, no cartridges, no mats or liquids to buy again. That is most of the argument for it over a vaporiser.
Why can I only pre-book?
Because we build in batches against confirmed orders rather than holding stock we may not sell. The ₹50,000 token holds your place in the batch and is adjusted against the final price; full token terms are shared in writing before you pay.
Which version should I buy?
Indoor if it is going in a bedroom, because nothing should light up while you sleep. Outdoor if it is going on a terrace or lawn, where seeing it work is reassuring. Detection and response are the same on both.
